What do you think of a carpet cleaning biz?

Was wondering what the thoughts are on this? Im thinking of starting one. Anyone have any suggestions or comments about it?

The hardest thing about starting your business will be getting customers. Once you have them hook line and sinker u should do more then just clean there carpets turn that one customer into 3 it will be so much easier then finding new customers. Maybe do gutter cleaning or window cleaning or even ceiling cleaning.

I know someone who started a carpet cleaning business in central pennsylvania, and he has done really well over the last two years. He went to an apartment complex, and put a bid in for carpet services, he of course happened to win. No anytime someone moves out and the carpet needs clean he is recommended by the complex, or if they dont clean the carpets. Then the complex pays him to come in and do the job. Now the complex he went to, had an outside management company that over seen all operations. Well they ended up giving him another complex about 15 miles away, so now he has two of them with over a total of 500 apartments.
