What do you do when a client contacts you months later and your prices are higher?

do you continue with the same price as before or do you let them know your prices are higher? if the latter, how do you go about doing that?

Tell them the prices were valid at the time of the offer and since they did not agree, since then you've increased your prices and see how they react from there. Negotiate and if they can't agree to the new price, you have to decide if you can live with honoring the old price or lose their business.

No, they did agree with the prices last time. It's just that time has passed since they ordered my service. About 3 months to be exact.

The truth. Tell them why the prices are higher. If you are able offer a discount this time. Then inform them that the price will increase so next time there are no surprises.

A simple explanation of "why" will suffice. Even though they may not like to hear that they increased, they can certainly understand why if you tell them. It is necessary to speak confidently though. If you make it seem surprising, they will react surprised. If you make it seem like no big deal and just part of business (which it is) then they should be fine.
