What could I do with $4000?

I was thinking of leasing a mall cart, I have an idea of what may sell well.. but I am afraid that I might not have enough operating money since month to month tenancy is like $3000 at minimum.

Seeing as I'm new here, are there any similar threads that might be useful to me?

Why cant I edit my first post?

Edit: or should I consider something with less of a start-up cost? Although, I would really like to go with this idea as it is fairly simple and I have done some research already, based on mall carts that sell similar products and make $1000 in sales per day. I have two suppliers in mind and plan on doing much more research on demographics, as well as other costs.

Should I go for it? and is there a fast way to make an extra bit cash so that I have more money to work with? Or maybe take out a small loan? I will probably sell some belongings and I can bring that amount to $5000.

I believe this business will at least break even, assuming I'd make $200 in sales per day, on gross margin of 50-65%, and that I'll be running the cart myself for the first month.

If anyone has any experience and is willing to discuss my plan with me, please let me know. thanks!

Sorry, I am not interested in investing in anything that will not provide immediate returns. I am in a dire situation because my dad is jobless and I would like to come up with some sort of plan to provide for my family.

    Hi bro.
I never took a loan from a bank or friends.
Never had a REAL world job.
I just love making money from the comfort of my home.
You can do a lot with 4K online. Some thinks take time till they catch some ground and you see the returns. Other things are a bit more risky but the rewards are faster and higher.
It's really up to you to look for what suits you best.
Feel free to PM me with your thoughts and i'll try and help the best i can.

Get your business plan drawn up first of all. Small Business for Dummies has a great step by step chapter on what questions you need to answer, etc. Go buy that book. I would maybe wait another year until you get $10K in savings and then approach the bank with your business plan for a small loan. That would be playing it safe. That's great that you want to provide for your dad but he needs to be looking for more work while you need to do what's best for you.

I'd also contact the mall, sometimes they may want a multi-month agreement, and if they do they could require multiple months worth of rent. Also is there a similar business already in the mall? for instance if your selling cheap sunglasses, which I know most malls have, the kind of 1 for $15, 2 for $25 kinda thing, malls won't let a second cart into the mall since it is already a niche. Also if it is 3k a month you won't have enough money. the remaining 1k won't be able to sufficiently cover inventory, POP, POS, etc. I'd make sure I had at least 2 months rent, enough for a couple runs of inventory and some petty cash. That's just my opinion. If you are determined no matter, then GL

I would create a website, probably hire someone good internationally to do it.

Then I would pay people to promote the hell out of it.

    Make lots of money.
