there are different categories of ventures, including lifestyle and non lifestyle businesses. these different categories are usually launched using slightly different methods...but in essence, there are two basic components to successfully launching any venture:

1. problem formulation
this involves answering the question "what problem is my business solving?" by going around and getting surveys filled out by customers.

2. resource aggregation / solution delivery
having identified specific customers and having talked to them, the founder can leverage survey results to aggregate resources like people and capital to deliver the founder's solution to the customers. once this is done, the business is live.

now..unfortunately, most founders don't do step one properly, which means that they are not able to do step two...which means that they deviate from this basic two step formula to launching a venture....which means that eventually, what ever they do end up starting, usually results in a mess.

do the two step and you'll be fine.
