We've started a business society at my university

    Hi

We've recently started a business society at my university in London. We've currently got about 12 people in it, although none of us really know what we should do with the society. Some ideas have been to form links with companies in the city with a view to internships and potential jobs. We are meant to be attracting more people to join although with little to offer them it seems unlikely we'll grow our numbers. I'm just wondering if anyone has had experiences with business societies at college or if anyone has any ideas on how to improve it.

    Thanks

    Charlie

Which university is it? I've applied to university this year.

You could try and get speakers in, or maybe try and run competitions etc?

Have you thought about having entrepreneurs join your group (non - students or graduates) so you have practical knowledge of people in the field. How about mastermind sessions? The good thing about a group is that you can fire ideas at each other and others can shoot them down. Somewhere along the line, a great idea will come.

    hope that helps

You should have some successful business people come and speak to the group.. Let them speak about their expereinces in business, successes, and failures, and market this group around campus via flyer's and even simply ask people to attend your meetings and have them bring along some friends.
