Perfect! Well said, Creadiv. Snowgoose, if you're really serious about a business name, how about spending a few bucks and hiring someone to come up with a great name for you?

Why spend money? Because it takes money to earn money.

What more do we need to know? What the hell you mean by "social networking promotion." What service you're really offering, and how it relates to customers' needs.

(Why we don't want to waste time helping you? Because of your combative attitude and unwillingness to accept criticism or even help.)

    snowgoose.com or socialnetworkpromo.com

With out more information as to what your doing, no one is going to be able to help you much. And honestly, if your doing social networking you don't have to worry about hiding your idea... it's probably been done, and if it hasn't someone will copy your site once you launch. They would then proceed to spend some money on advertising and win.

we are going to be a website to promote the social networking scene. we will have information on the main networks ( myspace, facebook etc) along with this we will reviews of randomly selected profiles and the oppertunity for bands and such to pay and get a review. Once reviewed we will place our slogan on their profile stating that they have been reviewed ( this will include a link to their review allowing visitors to view the review and also any other reviews previously made )

We will hopefully also be adding a forum to our site and adding the information of other new and upcoming social networks.

    Social Network Review
    Review My Network
    New Social Nets
(If your name was say, Brian Gimble) Gimble on the nets, Gimble on the bands, or Gimbleizer.

General thoughts... Nothing personal against you, but I'm not seeing a need for, most, of your services.

"we are going to be a website to promote the social networking scene. we will have information on the main networks"
Why exactly? There's only a few major players and people just use whatever their friends are on. If it sucks that doesn't really matter. It's like the place down the street with really bad pizza, but everyone goes there because their friends all do.

"we will reviews of randomly selected profiles"
That would probably just tick off people when you write a bad review for any reason.

"and the oppertunity for bands and such to pay and get a review."
Again, why? The band doesn't need your review, they can put any reviews on the popular networks for free. Paid reviews might work if you were really large, like people would pay the New York Times to do a review but they wouldn't pay Action News 69 - Now with more ACTION! because no ones heard of them.

"Once reviewed we will place our slogan on their profile stating that they have been reviewed ( this will include a link to their review allowing visitors to view the review and also any other reviews previously made )"

I don't think anyone would care about that as again, your not big media.

"We will hopefully also be adding a forum to our site and adding the information of other new and upcoming social networks."
Now this could be useful! Information on new and upcoming networks. I'd start with that, make yourself known before trying to do reviews. No one cares for a review written by someone they never heard of before but if the CEO of Google were to review the iPhone the entire world would be listening.

How can we prove that theory? Well I can bet you don't really care that I basically just "reviewed your website". You don't know who I am, so why would my opinion matter? If on the other hand my name was Warren Buffet... you'd be hanging on my every word.

Let's add arrogant Jasaunders. For someone who thinks so BIG-you can't even get a name together. Pointless.

Look to other companys for examples.
Such as Bebo, is spanish for home.
Think what your company is about and brainstorm on it, be open minded, and ask friends what they think of your ideas.
