so i have a website idea that i have been thinking about. someone please tell me if i would be wasting my time or not. but my idea is to make a online auction website by ordering a auctioneer script offline, and having ONLY shoe enthusiasts buy & sell on the website. (you know those people who are obsessed with the graphics and decals on ones nike dunks, air, jordans, reeboks, etc.. me being one of them)
how i plan to start the userbase is to get about 8-10 online shoe sellers like vantagekicks(dotcom), nicekicks(dotcom) etc.. and i would ask them to list about half of their stock on the website for no charge, and i would be posting this website advertising in all shoe enthusist forums and boards..

idk if itll work, but i think i could have something if i can get some shoe companies to start listing their products..

I am huge on shoes, I probably have more than most guys would ever buy. I also use to sell Men shoes several years ago for a well known fortune 500 company. That said, shoes online have been proven to have the one of the highest return rates in the industry. I'm not sure if you are talking about strictly selling graphics and decals people can attach to their shoes but statistically speaking, people who buy shoes online have a high chance of returning them. Upwards towards 40% (both guys and girls) simply because of the shoe not being what they expect in person, sizing (one of the biggest factors), and a number of other things. You might want to look more into this if you are serious about starting an online shoe auctioning site. If you're going to operate something similar to eBay and act as a middle man, you're also going to have a lot of competition from people just wanting to use eBay rather than your services.

All that said, this doesn't mean you can't profit from doing so, it's only a matter of how you plan on approaching the whole thing.
