What is the best webhosting company?
I'm looking to make a basic site nothing fancy.

going to have to go for my own www.EntrepreneurHosting.co.uk - cheap hosting, and you have the option to have a basic which is easy to use.

I always go with godaddy.com fast easy and cheap. I've heard good things about hostgator.com but ive never used them.

I'd reccommend DreamHost; and yes thats an affiliate link, lol. I use them personally, for business, and am also an affiliate. They have great options, wonderful quick support, and the best thing of all is that your bandwith allowance automatically increases every single month.

They are many good company but everything depend on your own experience with companies. From my experience totalchoicehosting is good company with stable and reliable servers but they support is not flexible as it suppose to be.
Hostedfx is good and young company.
Actually everything depend what you are looking for.Powerful server and good support is what everybody from us is looking for.

I like Yahoo! and there SiteSolution or Sitebuilder program you can use to build your website. It's easy and affordable, there are no 3,6,12,24 month contracts required. Just pay $10 bucks up front and your done with no setup fee either and domain included!

I would recommend hostmonster and bluehost. They are pretty affordable too. I've been with hostmonster for around 1 year. They are even offering hosting for unlimited domains.

I like Webfaction, which I use for my own sites, but it requires a bit of knowledge of how things work to use effectively.

I had a horrible experience with GoDaddy, and will never be back there.
