Website/business logo - include .com or not?

Im planning on getting a logo designed for my new business website and i need some advice.
    1. Do you think I should include the .com on the logo as part of the business name (or just use the business name as it appears on the biz license?
    2. Do you think i should get a logo without the .com and just the business name, the tag line/slogan and the website address?

Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions offered.

If it has a catchy sound to it, then the .com could work, however if it makes it longer then it will take away from your name or logo. The object should be to have your logo as memorable as possible so that your customers will memorize it and come to recognize your brand. Anything that makes it more difficult to remember takes away from that and should be avoided, that goes for taglines as well.

Lol, I don't think it really matters in the end.

I guess you can have two logos.. one that has the .com and one that doesn't and just use whatever is right for the situation.

It depends on the type of business. If it is primarily an online biz then of course include the .com If it's a local retail store I would say it is not important to include the .com

If you have some good website which you believe to showcase your business very well , then include tld in logo. If not, then there is no need.

I'd say do not include it. What do your competitors do?

    Hi,

I'd say it totally depends on the design of your logo, get your designers to do a few different designs with and without the .com then get some opinions from people you trust and value their contribution.

    Good luck with it.

    Cheers

That depends on how your domain name sounds like. If it sounds good with the .COM then you should go for it.

My competitor has the .com on their logo. I think I will have to get one with and one without because my main venture is strictly the .com; however, I plan on expanding the business to offer related products. So I may need to do one with a .com and one without.

For now, Im leaning towards having the .com included on the logo to avoid having to put the url on advertisements so that the logo will automatically relay that the business being advertised is a website.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

The logo doesn't have to have the ".com", and I actually wouldn't recommend it....the logo would seem more like an advertisement. The logo should be different, and tell what your business does just by looking at it. It should look appealing and have colors. I would prefer a sign or symbol to represent r business rather than text, but text isn't bad

    Here is my logo:

I would say if it's an online company like a e-commerce store, I would add the .com but if it isn't then I wouldn't even bother. I would just go for a nice looking logo!
