Web Hosting Advice
Hi, my site ( www.realwoody.co.uk) was hosted on my GeoCities account and has now gone down due to going over its bandwidth limit.
Can anyone give me some advice on a good value web hosting service? Theres so many companies out their, just wondering if anyone could recommend one?
Cheers, Nathan.

Aside from my service ( ), I have used HostGator in the past and I've been really impressed. Their $9.95 per month plan is a great value. In fact, my NetAutoBuy.com site is hosted with HostGator (as it is a separate venture in conjunction with someone else).
Other than that, I recommend viewing sites such as WebHosting.info, Webhostdir.com, Hostreview.com, and others to have a look at many different hosts. You may also wish to participate in hosting forums, such as HostingIndustryForum, WebHostingTalk, WebHostingChat, and HostHideout.
Good luck!

Hi Nathan,
I use Frozen Webhost ( www.frozenwebhost.com). His prices start at $5/month which I think is really reasonable. Also he is voted number 1 on www.webhostingjury.com. But without a doubt the best thing is that he has amazing customer service. He is on MSN every day helping people, and he has helped me loads in the past. Anyway, contact him first if you have any questions, and say that Adnan told you (btw, im not affiliated with him, its just that he is a really good web host!)

Check out godaddy( www.godaddy.com) - they have some good deals there for under $5/month and you get good bandwidth limits.

Bemyownboss, I just sent you a pm in regards to starting your own Web hosting company.
As for it being a challenge, I have to say that it is a very big challenge. It takes awhile to get established, the competition is fierce, and the competitors are downright mean. But do not let that discourage you - for all it's quirks, it's a very fun industry!

the stealthy one
Hey I got your pm thanks.
I look at it as everything you do is a challenge, some are easy challenges and some are hard challenges. I can definitely see that the competition is fierce. What do you mean when you say they are (downright mean)?

Well, many of them spread lies about you on review sites, spam you, contact your clients to try to steal them, try to trip you up by deliberately giving bad advice, send you death threats, etc. You just have to be careful, that's all. I was kind of naive when I started - I should have been more alert to these things. If you stay alert going into it, I think you'll be fine.
