    Web design/develop company

Hey, I believe I could start my own company designing and developing websites.

I would outsource design, and probably harder jobs but my target is to develop something which small businesses can use, and update themselves.

I would present businesses with a brochure of what i could do, and costs, and why a website would benefit them. I would also be using a CMS, which they would easily customize pages of their site as well as update news. I would clearly outline the advantages, and setup a meeting the the owner/manager to discuss the idea, and how it can benefit their business.

Obviously there is alot of scummy websites out there, so I would ensure them the site will be up to standard, and would be delivered with 100% satisfaction.

I guess my biggest challenge is that this is a very competitive market, and i would have issues with convincing them to use me and what not. Is anyone currently doing this, and have they got any tips of what i could do, or if its worth attempting?

I can't suggest Joomla after reading over what you have written.
Drupal is a good CMS for a lot of things, though, and if you don't mind a plug, my own CMS ContentFocus is (almost ridiculously) easy to theme.

There is nothing "wrong" with joomla. It would however be better to develop your own CMS, that way you will understand everything about your code, and will therefore be able to customise it to your clients exact needs.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

hi. I have a web design firm in the Philippines and I started using Joomla CMS for my websites. Its been pretty good so far. Although I am also spending time in learning Drupal and hopefully make my OWN CMS

If you really like to maximize on your profit, I suggest you outsource your services here in the Philippines. We have highly technical people here and are very good in the english language. Oh and also to mention creative artists aswell.

I am in the process of expanding my business abroad and hopefully have a full blast offshore business model running by the end of the year.

www.168media.net is my website - ihbo.168media.net is one of my project cms site and several more on the works.

Let me know what you think, we might be able to do some business in the fututre.

    Thanks.
