I have been looking into opening a store that will cater to specific electronics needs, i.e. television, computers, or photography. Any suggestions as to what to use for the shopping cart? Also, are there any good dropshippers to look into?

Dropshippers? NO idea. Although those are pretty common products and shouldn't be too hard to find one for. Be sure you are not paying more to dropship than others are selling them for Online (common mistake w/ electronics especially on Ebay).Originally Posted by paul2145r
As far as a shopping cart with Web 2.0 capabilities I would have to recommend Web 2.0 Stores. We are currently in Private Beta, but will have demos and screenshots of the software and admin this month. Currently, there is no other Online store / Web store platform like it.
Shopify is another good one, but they leave all the marketing stuff up to you to manage and implement. They do have stores with good PR and Google ranking so the potential is there.
Hope this helps!

Why'd you put "web 2.0" stores in your title?
And I ask this not as a cynic but from the perspective that if that is how you are going to promote your store, you had better have an understanding of what web 2.0 is, aside from some buzz words that everyone seems to be talking about.
Knowing the lingo is half the battle. Effectively being able to USE the lingo is another.

The definition of Web 2.0, as you know, varies depending on who you are asking. Wikipedia has a great page on Web2.0. Another good resource is Web2.0validator, which outlines some of the things that potentially make your site more "Web 2.0," or as I call it "Web2.0ish."
I believe no matter how you use the term, Web 2.0 is a buzz word. We use it in our title because our stores offer SOME Web2.0ish features (mostly popular ones) and that is the market we hope to attract Online and off. We plan on adding many more helpful tools and social features so that our stores, hopefully, continue to become even more Web2.0 and eventually Web3.0.
Right now, our current client base is very happy with the results our stores provide and the rankings that are almost immediately present just by using our platform and promotion tools. Beyond that, they like the fact that they can see progress everyday in search engines and have the ability to track the whole process. Frankly, they don't care what words we use as long as the tools work and they continue to make money by using them.

web20stores, I think yo guys have some killer technical talent and a great attitude. If you've got the right connections, talent is your ticket for a speedy acquision. That said, with a solid marketing play , the sky's the limit.
Having done a shopping cart startup in the past, it's no secret that it's a tough gig.
Drop me a line if you want to chat about this stuff.

Done. Great response.
I'm familiar with Web 2.0 and did some research myself, hence my question.
The fact is your capitalizing off the desire for people to express their "knowledge" and "acceptance" of Web 2.0 technology.
Great thinking.
