Waterproof Fabric? Where can I find a supplier?

Hi,

I'm looking for waterproof nylon. All the local vendors are selling it for too much. Anyone have any idea on where I can start looking for this type of stuff. As you can imagine the vendors won't tell me where they get their fabric from. Do I look overseas?

Hi Robert,

What type of nylon are you looking for? ripstop, cordura, lightweight, heavyweight? you can look at alibaba, but buying direct from a supplier will mean that you have to buy in large quantities. There are wholesalers here in the states that are fairly competitive on wholesale pricing. as for looking directly at the mills, some of the best right now are in south korea. I'd warn against the chinese textile mills for nylon.. our experience is that the quality is just not there.. dye problems, weave problems, etc.. they're more about quantity than quality..

If you're looking for large quantities, like 500-1000yd rolls, try alibaba for korean suppliers, and look for contacts directly at the mills..
