Wanting to import Chinese electronics to sell in the states

I am wanting to import netbooks from a chinese company, unbranded ones, to sell in the states, Possible move on to other products, such as HID kits for cars.

Could someone please explain what I must do (legally speaking) before ordering any products. Is there a good write up or website that will walk me through all of this.... I am concerned about taxes, customs...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

A freight forwarder or customs broker will deal with any issues of importing and duty/import tax in your area/country.

For business taxation advice, it is best to book an appointment to see an accountant, and when you explain what you want to do, they will tell you exactly how to register it all properly and keep track of your taxes.

It will not be explained on the internet well enough, because it is different for a lot of people, and also different in a lot of parts of the world, so there are a lot of variables.

You can look for clearing and forwarding agents in your area...otherwise you can visit business consultant for detailed advice. You'd rather draft your complete proposals..i mean your whole idea and o with it to some advicers..alternatively you can search for various import regulation through internet such as cargo company sites and perhaps tax revenue authority you might find every detail you need if incase you wanna do it exclusively on your own

My best advice is step back and research! you are about to make a big mistake
1st contact people who sell the said products you want work out a partnership with them, together you can maybe buy a bigger shipment with them with the company they have a track record with got it? this will be your stepping stone to learning what works from someone who is doing it with out the major mistakes. If you want to be stuborn then find a business accountant to set your company up correctly then research read ALOT> e-myth to start then 10 day MBA, the import /export books ahh i never found one that was a good refrence. The thing is China electronics are not of good quality!most are knock offs Korea,Japan are of best quality, but there are a few companies in Hong Kong area that produce but most are left overs or stolen goods.
the companies you order from just ask them for pricing or use a frieght forwarder you will be notified on taxes and tarifs later from them do not limit yourself to China you will be surprised what you can find in the states or even Canada
