    Here's a route to consider:

Why not go ahead and carry the "unbranded" items, but have each item paired with and compared to a similar branded item? This would allow users to feel that they were able to gauge the quality of the "unbranded" item, since they are familiar with the perceived quality of the branded item. As long as you are honest about them (and you will actually gain credibility by not trying to say that every "unbranded" item is as good as or better than the branded item to which it is compared), you might be successful with such an approach. If you were to try it, you could simply compare them along several different criteria so that where your item lacked in a couple categories, it could still be shown to meet other needs of consumers.

Maybe this is a bad idea. I would be interested to know others' thoughts.

Don't over look the value of these 'unbranded' items. Two years ago Vizio was a new name to the flat panel TV industry. This unbranded but quality product found its way into many lower to mid-income households. It is now the number one seller of flat panel TV's in the US (from their own commercials). The American consumer in many cases can't afford the Sony or Sharp flat panel. These unbranded items are actually a hot commodity. Again.. make sure what you are selling is quality and don't worry so much about the name brand products. In many cases the margins on the unbranded items is higher anyways.

let me revise it, i meant to say unbranded units like cheap quality product imported from china or other country, kind of like fake iphone, ipod, cheap mp3 players. i don't mind to sell high quality products that are "New" names.

All i could find is very low end products. maybe i am not doing enough research, or maybe you just can't find these suppliers from google.

There is still plenty of room on eBay for selling electronics, you just have to be more creative these days with where you get your inventory and how you present it!

I'm following your posts... if you are going to make a comment like that you need to provide more info... why does it suck? What would you recommend this poster do instead? What type of experience do you have that applies to your opinion and your recommendation?

I'm telling you all right now... IdeaMaster is either a genius or a loony... The jury is still out...

well, how about brand name cell phone accessories? if ok, try this Chinese cell phones & accessories supplier, it offers a wide range of accessories for Nokia, Mototola,Samsung,Sony Erricson, etc. at wholesale prices.
    hope this helps.

Check out surplus.net and amlinc.com, they have a whole lot of good supply there. Don't buy into these wholesale and dropshipping scams. You can find good suppliers with a simple Google search.

By the way, about the EBay comment. Although I didn't make it, it's true, trying to sell saturated products on EBay is tough. Porter's 5 Forces analysis says so too, a high margin market will draw lots of competition fast. Certain types of product markets on EBay, such as consumer electronics, have too many barriers to entry, such as having too many competitors...especially if you're looking to make bank, it's not the way to go.

You may even consider buying on EBay and selling on your own site. I've done some of that. EBay is lower than most places in certain products, so breaking your neck to try and beat competition at the price game will be a real tough margin to make much profit off of. On EBay, the key is selling products that have little competition, and dominating that market. That's the key at most business, but hey I'm not qualified to give general advice to most business. But on EBay, you have to find less saturated markets. Electronics is very broad. There are some electronics areas that are still good. But I'm talking about stuff like hardware and electronic components, not popular consumer goods.

Anyhow, check out those two sites I mentioned, you'll find a lot of good stuff.

Last comment is - if you're trying to do what everyone else is trying to do, then you'll get what everyone else is getting - pretty mediocre results at best. And be wary of the people with affiliate links in their signature who are pushing the dropshipping/wholesale topic on these boards.

I've seen this quite a bit on EBay, and it's risky, and you could even get kicked off for keyword spamming. It's basically on the line of being against EBay policy.

Example: MP3 Player with iPod Nano case

They are selling a generic MP3 Player, one of these Chinese iPod clones, and a case that is not even made by Apple but it happens to conveniently fit an iPod Nano.

I'm not sure if this is what you were implying by pairing products, but overall, I think it's a bad idea. It's dishonest, and at best it might work for while, but you're basically misleading buyers by marketing your main product with the name-brand of something else. Eventually it could lead to negative feedback or some breach of EBay policy. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing that, but maybe some people would.

There's a ton of other things to be selling out there anyway.

This is very competitive market and ebay = barely any money for already noticed niches. All I got to say is good luck.

Well that costs lots of $$$. Your better off doing what I do. Radio shack was closing in my neighbor hood. They had 1000's of cell phone battery 10 for 10$ (they had good ones that would normally sell 9.99 - 35$ each) I made a deal with the manager and got 5 for a 1$ and bought them out of a few thousand. Then I started on ebay listing them at my price and charging an extra 1$ for shipping. Next thing I knew after like 25 sales I broke even. Then I started profiting rapidly. Opportunities can hit you like a bat. You just got to be open to the stitches
