    Wall of Shame

I clean people's computers for a living. It's a great business concept (not that I invented it, I'm just saying) - for a small amount of money I keep people's computers running longer than they would have without cleaning, which saves a much larger amount of money.

My question is - what do you think about the "Wall of Shame" on www.cleanercomputers.ca? I put other anonymous pictures of people's dirtiest computers on the wall to show what could happen if you NEVER clean your computer. Do you think it is an effective tool, a complete waste of time, or somewhere in between?

Thanks in advance for your input

I think it's a pretty effective marketing tool. The majority of computer owners don't even know how to use their computer never mind know how to open up their computer to see how dusty and damaged their computer can become.

I was extremely surprised to see that nearly 80% of the students in one of my programming classes said they didn't know how to replace a hard drive. It's just pathetic when people don't know how their computer runs and they plan on making a living off of it.

    This is interesting Jeff!

One of our divisions is IT Solutions, and we come across some pretty nasty ones. especially in a business environment where of course no employee is going to crack open a comp to clean the fans off because they are just that concerned about it. I am just not sure about two things. the photos themselves are gross! people might find it repulsive, HOWEVER this effect could be the one you want. it could create an impulse buy. Second, the "wall of shame" is a very negative phrase and seems unprofessional to me(please dont be offended I am just giving an honest opinion). I would try renaming it to something not as "character bashing" .. spin it off more like why would you clean them? this is the result and so on. JUST my opinion
