    Wal-Mart spends Millions to fight $7K fine

    The $7,000 fine from OSHA was for the trampling death of a Wal-Mart employee , crushed by a surging mob of customers outside a Long Island Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving, 2008.

    The company claims it's acting on principle...

    Yeah, they're trying to preserve in their eyes their image. Unfortunate for them, no matter what they do, they're only making it worse. I have to say though, it wasn't their fault to begin with as it was the mob on black friday that did this and a lot of things could have been done to avoid such an incident but it is what it is.

    them contesting it is also good for the little guys. If walmart beat it, then they unset the precedent incase it happens again at a mom and pa store
