    VOIP for small home business

    Hello All,

I currently only have a cell phone and need to get a phone# for my company. It seemed only natural that I would get a VOIP service to accomplish this.

Over the past 3 days, I have done tons of research on VOIP providers and have encountered TONS of them. From reviews I've found, everyone one of them has its good and bad.

From a purely business aspect, which service would you recommend? A good set of standard features is a must. A 2nd line would be great! Or something like eFax.

And it from many comparisons, it seems I shouldn't pay more than $40/month to get this.

I'm considering 5 point Communcations as a top choice. Anybody know them?

    Thanks in Advance.

I switched over to voip a few years ago when it was pretty new to the masses. I went with AT&T at the time, just because they were the only established company offering it amongst a bunch of new comers like vonage, packet 8, etc.

Vonage has proven themself over the years. But I am happy with AT&T (http://www.usa.att.com/callvantage/index.jsp)

Thanks Rad. I'll move them into the top 5. No arguing that ATT is established and good at what they do.

    Hey Adkot,

I use Broadvoice.com. I've had it for months now and so far I am satisfied with the services they provide. You can check out their rates and packages and see if they seem to be a good candidate for you.

For efaxes, K7.net gives you incoming faxes for free. The only draw back is that they only give you a Seattle base number. I use it to receive and when I need to fax out-I fax back to my K7 account and FWD the files via email.

    I hope these helps.
