Why do you say that when we can see that you have a linkedin and blog and everything else?

I think the site is pretty cool and has potential.

The answer is because VCs dont look for deals online. However, if done right the OP may be able to scam some unsuspecting, desperate business owners into paying them fees to get funding. Maybe he/she can charge 5k to write a crappy business plan. One of those a week and you're doing okay for yourself.

I was wondering when this would pop up here. I like the way he incorporated Musicians, and athletes. Its defiantly not a traditional way of coming at it. Plus its free, you cant complaint about that.

that's ok. you might be thinking that 'caus you just haven't been around.

for one thing, it's either illegal or highly embarrassing for financiers to do business with strangers they met over the net. this kind of conduct can either give cause for a negligence suit on behalf of the limited partners, or the lps will almost certainly conclude that the manager hasn't got dealflow and pull out that way. other than that, adverse selection and deal filters are the two critical factors which determine how people come together to do business..and these concepts are incompatible with sites like gobig or vcnetwork

I agree with the statement of people don't tend to invest online... totally agree..thats just a corner of site. the thing i like about this site is that its not based on investment. Did you read the pretext on the front page? I don't know, whatever the case maybe I joined because if the wave does pick up momentum I'll be on top of it.

I with him, imagine if you were the first person to join linked in.. you'd have so many connections. Even if they are virtual connections, I still feel that social networking plays a big roll in business.

Hey, just got done making my profile on the Site, should check it out (Brett Cordell), I build personal computers and do repairs. I think the site is a useful tool, I can post info about myself and my particular trade skill, and if someone needs it, they know where to find me.

Akula - Not sure where the negativity is coming from, someone had an idea, and went with it. On the front page it told me what the objective of the site was, and that was to help me connect my self with those who may need my services. The internet is a huge place for business, and its growing very popular. People invest in online phenomenons all the time. Welcome to the present.

meh..the name is stupid and needs to go, the whole thing should only be targeted towards artists and adopt a myspace/amiestreet feel to it

Nah, just based on an old show I used to watch.
Well no reason to sit here an debate opinionated topics such as names....because that's really a trivial put down on any site(anyone here know of a site called fandango?).
