    Cool Vector LOGOS?

Instead of simply posting self-serving advertisements trying to reel you in with a lame sales pitch....I'm going to give you some information that you can actually USE.

You can choose to hire me as a logo designer, or any other designer. BUT...if you are getting a LOGO, make sure to ask for a VECTOR LOGO.

In your quest to obtain your logo, you may encounter MANY designers who can make a very good case as to why you don't "really" need a vector logo. These are generally designers who are more proficient at PhotoShop and have been very successful at using Non-Vector images for printing purposes.

But, no matter how HIGH the RESOLUTION....if your file is NOT a vector file --- IT WILL BECOME PIXELATED when you enlarge it. Even if it's 1,000,000 DPI (which would be ridiculous, of course) it will still become pixely at some point.

A VECTOR LOGO WILL NEVER EVER PIXELATE. If you get a vinyl banner cut, you need a vector logo. If you screenprint T-shirts, you will most likely need a vector file. The same goes for embroidery, many promotional items, signage, and many othe products that entrepreneurs, new businesses and creative professionals will ask for.

I created a blog that really explains it well called:
    "What IS a VECTOR LOGO??"
    WhatIsAvectorLOGO - dot - com

Once again...I encourage you to use ANY independent designer out there (as opposed to those conglomerate logo clearing houses) whether they be local or online-based. But DEMAND that your logo be created IN VECTOR FORMAT.

    Popular vector formats include:

    .Ai, .Eps - Adobe Illustrator
    .CDR - CorelDraw

Brochures, business cards, flyers, posters, postcards and many paper-printed materials do not NEED to be created as vector files. LOGOS, however, should ALWAYS be created in vector format if you TRULY want full control over how you will be able to use your logo in the future.

It is hard to make posts like this without seeming like I'm only in it to get a referral. Let me assure you that this is NOT my intention. I'm a member of my local business incubator and answer this question at least five times per week. I get people emailing me who have no intention of buying a logo...which i do NOT MIND ONE BIT!! I love to give people valuable information and can even refer you to OTHER designers if it helps to prove my point.

I have simply seen WAY too many forums lately featuring designers who are trying to minimize the importance of a vector file when designing logos.
