    Validation before investing

If you are investing in a LLC's business plan from somewhere else in the US from where you are residing how can you check the validity of the LLC? How can you make sure it even exists before handing over your money? Anyone have to deal with something like this?

The state in which it was registered will have a record. You need to find out where it was registered, and then contact that States Secretary of State for validity. There you can find out if a particualr business is in good standing or not. Texas has a website for all that, im not sure of other states.
