USA to UK shipping, does this exist?

Hi

I've just been doing a bit of research and i've realised that lots of USA companies don't ship to the UK. Is there such a company that could be based in the USA and then have the products that the UK customer orders from the american company sent to them before they ship them to the UK?

This process could also work in vice versa, i'm just wondering if it exists or if there is a gap in the market.

Hmmm. Good idea. Im not sure how one would start a shipping company though. You would have to check into that. There is a market for international shipping. Sorry that i dont have much information about this.

Mail Forwarding of American Products for International Delivery this company do it already, the problem here is that the rates are extortionate. Is there currently a cheap way of shipping internationally? Sending post isn't too bad but parcels are very expensive. Where does the cost occur? If one company ships it themselves instead of using DHL or Fedex will this be cheaper? Or is it to do with high fuel prices?

The start up costs in setting up some thing like this would be massive and i mean massive.

o.k starting on a small scale, the main costs would be: one warehouse, staff, website and shipping. I am aware there will be lots of others but as this idea is still at a concept stage they are the main ones I can think of. Would the concept work with posting via the US Postal service? Does anyone have any experience shipping internationally with them?
