Urgent - google is updating link values!

This kind of caught me off guard but at the same time data for the past week has been pointing towards this. I don't know what they are changing but I use some pretty expensive software to track links and I can see major negative shifts in link counts. I'm seeing this from multiple sources. Last week for the first time ranking reports for Yahoo and Bing had major changes that for most part were positive. I'm a little nervous about what is going on.

I mentioned about a month ago that Google was up to something with their rankings based on what all the pros were saying. I think it's happing. Is anyone else seeing this?

I have noticed something happening this last few days as some of my sites have sky rocketed up Google search and into the top 15 for some major keywords this inturn has increased visitors,so although i am not sure exactly what is happening its good so i am not complaining about it.

Have your sites gone up or down in google search ???

This happens normally, because Google constantly upgrades of updates their algorithm.
Dont be alarmed about this. Just try to update your links to.

This is not the case. This isn't a run of the mill shift. There is something big going on here.

My sites have stayed pretty strong in the rankings. What I have seen for some of my sites is more then half of my links disappearing. The problem is it hasn't been across all sites and in one case they were gone for a few days and now they are back. I can't figure out what is going on right now.

WOW, sounds like a serious situation for any internet entrepreneur. I would suggest getting someone who knows a lot about Google and its new developments for SEO etc. ASAP. Which software do you guys use? Perhaps they have some intel or suggestions to help you out. Good luck!

We would all love to talk to someone that knows Google... the problem is they don't exist. No one at Google will ever tell you what they are doing or what they are changing. The best you can do is hold on for the ride and then wait till the market figures out what they think was changed.

There haven't been any drastic change in our ranking. However, I don't know for what reason the links to our site is showing three times more than it actually was a week ago!

What I would suggest is keep visiting Matt Cuts blog: Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google, and SEO

I still have three different services giving me a N/A or an Error for link counts. As long as my rankings stay strong I guess I can't complain.

I have noticed it as well but not that worried about it. Google does it quite often actually nowadays. As long as you have relevant links to your site you will always be safe. But if you have mainly web directory links etc, those get removed by the search spiders and you link count goes down.
