Has anyone on here ever tried to put together a team of business students, programmer students and web design students and tried to build something big?

Another one of my portfolio smanagers spent two years at a business college. SO in short yes we have built our team partially of "students". ALOT of thjings start with folks who arent finished there degrees yet.
Are you paying them salaries or did you just make a contract and give them equity in the company for when things start to take off?

I didn't do anything like that while I was in college, but have considered contacting a few professors to see if anyone they know of would like some real world experience.
The problem i find in it is that i lack knowledge of coding in web design and software engineering. Im going to handle the business side of everything and have them do the coding. Since i don't have money to burn on salaries i want to just give them equity in the company for when it starts to pay off and the money starts rolling in. What would be a fair percentage of equity for me in the company? They are the ones with the skill so they should get the most shares, or does it not work that way? I want them to be happy to code for me and do the best job possible everyday.

Dont give them equity then your giving up part of the company. Pay them as a subcontractor. That way when they do a project they get paid, it will be good for students who need part time money they can work on around there schedules.

no no read carefully. use them as sub contractors. You only pay them if there is work for them to do. any workt hey do they get paid for which means you are getting paid. You also dont have to do anything like unions or employee contributions to pension etc etc etc. if you have work they have work and get paid.. if there is no work you dont have to pay them anything.
Yea i understand but how will i get them to originally create the software and website? If i cant pay them to make it then i cant really get anywhere.

This is what I'm doing. I am helping people help me. I am a college student and although money is great, there are other compensations that mean a lot to us too.
I am helping people help me. I give you credibility as a worker and real world experience and you do this for me. I will recommend you for anything as if it were a real job and may be able to work with the university to get you internship credit.. that's almost like money to college students and I plan on helping people help me. It helps them create a portfolio or resume of their work with you. No money, no equity..

We are developing a magazine for business-minded youth and young adults that promotes entrepreneurship and business education. I've been here before a while back to try to solicit help. I finally came up with a new solution (reach out to my peers and figure out a way to help them help me). If you need some starting points to what I did, feel free to ask.
