Unique Visitors/ Hits ... What is average?

For all those that own websites new launches etc. I have 3 questions...

    1. How many unique visitors do you have for one month?

    2. How many hits do you have for one month?

    3. What do you think is an average number of unique visitors for a new website?

Can you state how long your site has been up please.

I think you will struggle getting answers for this question. As not a lot of people will want to share that information at the early stages. Especially if they start seeing a bunch of sites doing better in the same amount of time. So I imagine most people will start cropping up once they get an idea of what everyone else is putting.

There is no average for a new website. Because it isn't as simple as setting up the website, then leaving it be for the whole world to find you. It depends on how much effort you have put into your SEO. If someone has designed a website and think the job is complete once the design is finished, then they are going to get 1 or 2 hits a day for a few months, then it will build to 2-5 hits etc.

Then you may get another site, who have been creating back links and the rest for hours each day since the site has been live. Then effectively been using all the other SEO techniques. They may be looking toward 100 views per day to get the ball rolling, maybe not the first few weeks to a month of course.

Big difference, you can have the best website in the world, but unless you do the work to get yourself noticed. Your just another grain of sand on that long golden beach.

Although if you want to get the thread rolling... What are your stats?

Well I have up a coming soon page now so I haven't been putting in the work as to getting it noticed. The only place I advertise my site is on this board. I don't want to overly advertise a coming soon page as it has no content to it and there is nothing there to keep anyone coming back. Not until I get the actual site up I will focus more on advertising and SEO.

So far for the month I have had only 48 unique visitors and about 1,500 hits.

I have an e-commerce web site that is a little over 2 years old.
For the past 30 days I have
    29,032 unique visitors
    42,618 visits
    184,252 page views

My numbers are a little down, but I was having an average of 1000 unique visitors per day.
When I first started I only had a few, but have spent time working on SEO and social network marketing.
Focus on SEO, Press Releases, Bloggers, etc
