(UK Members) Do you think Gordon Brown will be good for Business?

Well, we have a new Prime Minister, and he claims to be building a government of "all the talents" at first, after Blair I was skeptical about his leadership, but with him having Alan Sugar and Richard Branson in lower positions (ministers for business and commerce or something like that) I think he could well turn this country around.

Agree ? Disagree? Feel free to comment.

Well, I don't know about "turn this country around", we are one of the greatest countries on the planet and I don't think we need turning round??
His veiws and opinions are along the same lines as Blairs, so I doubt we will see much/any difference to be honest.
He really needs to sort out the NHS crisis, and inflation I would say. Which he has promised to do, but whether we actually see an improvement is another kettle of fish!
Good for business, it really depends, in some areas yes, in others no. He has technicaly made the average british family worse off when he was chancellor of the exchequer, and made it much, much harder for the small businessman with corporate taxing changes.
Although if you are already a millionaire and have a massive company, then he is better for business!

I really, really disapprove of Gordon's cabinet of ministers shake up. The home secretary, Jacqui Smith, my god! I can't stand her.

Yep, John Hutton I think. The Business and Enterprise Minister. Although i don't think his role is going to be prodominant enough for him to be a usefull member of the cabinet. Maybe i am wrong though.

Even so it could stop britain from having shall we say, more left wing politics than it already has.. this is a good thing I believe.

Last thing we need is the reds getting in =p

Well labour is all about liberalism and more left wing politics.
Another conservative goverment is exactly what we don't need right now!
Look at the housing market, its just crazy right now. Conservatives have never been good with inflation, look at Thatchers government, and look what she did to the country.

Although having said that, I do actually have more of a conservative disposition when it comes to politics, and right now Labour has been very traditionaly conservative, and the torries have been the opposite.

He doesn't mess about, I can see that already, he does not mess about.

He's been quoted as saying he's not in politics for fame, but to get a job done and do it well.

Blair was annoying anyway tbh, he was too "personable" grinning, "friend to everyone" all spin and rubbish as well you know.

and he looked a bit like Chancellor Palpatine in starwars.. *nerd*
