No, because if that person ran the business the wrong way, they can really screw up the reputation, the income, the customers, etc. Such as not showing up on time, not coming in, not knowing how to handle a problem, not keeping track of taxes and sales, etc.

I cannot imagine any business owner allowing some stranger to come along and take over the business on the pretense of wanting to buy it. This person would have to have access to all sorts of confidential information. Would you want some stranger running your cash register for a day?

Although it is a good concept I dont think it would work for the following reasons (ASSUMING you could get past all of the privacy and destructive issues).

People that COULD be successful running a business will do their research and know what they are doing before they jump in, this trial would mean very little to them as there are easier ways to verify things like profit ect.

    on the flip side

People this would appeal to may not know exactly what they are doing at first (therefore the interest) and the odds of them being successful right out of the gate in that pretext is very small.

So legit buyers would probably not be interested, and the people it would appeal to would much more likely than not fail, making it a mute point.

I'm confused as to why any business owner would want anyone to "try" their business before they bought it. Maybe I'm not understanding the concept.

Thank you very much for such strong points. However my point is not to expose buyer or seller. Both parties can be linked with strong contract which should cover points like
    Buyer should bear all expenses
    No harm to equipments
    and goes on
This concept was used by my bro 20 years a go . 20 years back my bro want to start business but he was not sure what do do .At that time he saw ad of Dry-cleaning shop for sale he visited place (Houston) . He liked it but due to his lack of experince in this filed he was not sure to pursue .
Seller was mature he understand situation and he agreed to give shop for 2 months by this time my bro will bear all expenses . it was good deal for both
and guess what my bro bought the shop and till today he is running this business successfully.

I guess your bro was lucky enough to get such a good seller but these days you can't trust anyone in such matters.

But that doesn't stop anybody from ruining the business.

But why would anyone waste any amount of time "trying" a business. Either you can learn about it by walk throughs and research or you can't. I don't know any serious entrepreneurs that would waste 2 weeks or 2 months trying a business. Great outside the box opportunity though.

    Enjoy Life,
    Nick

I agree with you why will some one bother to waste 2 months and money and I ask my bro same question
Reply was "I was going to invest 150K before investing such big amount it was better to take risk of 2 months and 1000 dollars.people may claim cash flow is high when u get into water you come to know how much depth it have paying such a small amount give me idea should i take risk or no "

its good to hear argument between old business mind and new

maybe laws have changed since then, I dont know. But there are contractual obligations that protect me from fraud. It's pretty tought to fake verifiable bank statements. Again, 150k to invest is a lot, but in the two months that i was trying something, i missed 10 other opportunities.

yeh you have valid point you may miss opportunities, but don't you think its better to work on one at a time
paying to 10 opportunities out of which may 6 fail . concentrating on one

its like learning injecting capital . Any way may be your opinion is correct .
