Trading Under 18 in the UK

Hi,

I just wanted to ask for some advice on trading in the UK if one is under 18 years old. I am 16 (17 in 2 weeks) and I am interested in buying shares in various companies; I have played some stock games and seem reasonably good but wanted to ask if it is even possible to do so. Most sites I have looked at seem to be for people aged 18 years or over so is there a law regarding this, googling it came up with very little.

Nathan, you can buy shares but it would have to be though someone that is over the age of 18 E.g. Your mum or dad.

I did. Told them I was born in 1986 rather than 88

As if they will care.

Here in UK you have to provide your NI number and ID.

So you cannot lie, you have to be over 18 with a bank account.

If you not 18 and you can't get someone to register for you just forget it.
