Tips for online fruit shipping company.

Hi everybody, how are you doing? Not too bad here, enjoying some rare desert rain.

My question is regarding shipping products. We want to cut out the middle man and offer direct shipment of our fruit straight to our customers. We can ensure better quality fruit this way, as its out of hands once delivered to a store and there is a better profit potential.

Has anyone here had experience with custom box making? It would be ideal to have our business name located right on the boxes we ship.

This all would happening "in-house" (literally. I live where I work), and I am wondering how UPS/FedEx works in terms of for a business.

Like, if I had 40 packages to ship, how much of a hassle would this be? I can't drive to the UPS store, as I am literally in the middle of the desert. The nearest one is 40 miles away.

Just some thoughts and questions, seeing if anyone can shed some light on these issues.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

in my country, all courier services such as UPS, DHL offer collection from your door. Just get the AWB slip, fill it yourself, then call their office to arrange collection time.

You can register an account with them. When you call, you can just provide your account number, they will track all your records and you can pay by GIRO.

But if you are talking on big volume, I suggest you to approach local freight forwarding company. It is much cheaper compared to courier.

For fruits, i think you need a temperature-controlled containers to keep your fruits under certain temperature.

    good point!
My inital thought about this when i read the thread title was about the fruit going stale, but certainly look into the temperature requirements! I am sure this way the fruit will arrive fresher!

    All the best with this!
