Question Thoughts on doing market research, but without giving too much away?

Or am I just paranoid someone will latch on and copy my idea? I've been working on a survey to see if consumers would use a website service I have in mind. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! It's an idea I came across while job hunting recently and I wasn't able to find another adequate tool like the idea I had. Money would be minimal (couple hundred dollars only), but quite a bit of time would be required to put together the interactive website. While I'd find it extremely helpful, would others? That's what I'm hoping to gauge. :-) I'll see if I can post a survey soon once my wife proofs.

Amen to the lazy comment! You have no idea how many times I hear "It's too late to be a millionaire and make something cool" or "I wish I had the drive to make my own company." It's made me a bit more loose to bounce my ideas off of people, because the likelihood that someone will take it and run with it is very small.

Thanks to both of you. That really helps and I think you're both right. I'll see if I can post a survey soon once my wife has proofed. It helps to have a wife that majored in psychology!
