Thinking of starting up something, but I need your feedback

I was thinking of starting a blog/vlog about my family.

A little about us, i'm Janine, 26 yr old, engaged to my soon to be husband, Adam, 24, and we have our son, Zak age 5.

We are ALWAYS busy running around. We both work fulltime, I work nights he works days, we budget our money well, live in a little bungalow.

We strive to help others. We're always doing things for other people. Hence, i'm a nurse, and he's a banker.

Our blog/vlog would cover everything from, recipes (healthy and frugal), how we manage to have family time, sports and physical fitness we both do, money help, and looks on how we help others, home repairs/updates, wedding planning, coupons, and anything else i can think of.

I need ideas on name or even where to start, or if this is just a stupid idea =)

There's so many free blogs out there, which is the best to promote and use? I would like something with an Iphone app because we both have one.

We are brainstorming cool names

and trying to think of sections to do...what do you think would interest the world the most?

Take the Wordpress then. They have iPhone app interface. goto WordPress › Blog Tool and Publishing Platform and register your site. However, you are not allowed to show adverts in your blog there, so if you need to earn money from advertising you need to setup your own commercial site.

Not a stupid idea but for what purpose are creating this blog - to keep family and friends informed on your activities? Useful to other families like yourself? Trying to generate ad revenue?
There are certainly sites like Wordpress and Blogger that you can quickly get set up on. Just need to put in the work and time to keep it updated. Good luck!

It is not a stupid idea but you just have to realize that there are hundreds of blogs out there just like that so if it is for the purpose of keeping family up to date, etc like GotLiveChat said then great but if you are looking at it as a business venture you have to realize that there needs to be something special about it for it to make money. If you check out mombloggersclub.com there are over 12,000 mom bloggers on there and probably only a very small percentage that make any money with their blog.

I don't think i'll be able to make money on it, but I suppose it can be something that my family can look back on...
