Dear Forum Administrators,
I hope this message finds you well. I really like the new website design, it looks great.
I haven't been here in a while, but I've been reading the forums from time to time, and I think the number of sticky threads seem to increase. I think there are too many sticky threads in this forum, and my opinion may be supported by other forum members (as you may or may not see in the responses to this post).
The point of making a thread into a sticky is to prioritize its importance and bring it to the attention of forum members. However, when 50% of the forum threads are made into stickies (I counted 25 stickies and 25 regular threads in the General Forum), the following consequences occur:
- The purpose of the stickies are defeated as unimportant topics get stickied
- The forum becomes cluttered and regular threads become more difficult to see because you have to scroll
- Regular threads in this forum do not get the same amount of views and replies as they would have received if there had not been so many stickies
- Before posting this thread, there are currently 13 regular threads with 1 or less responses
- As threads that are not even supposed to be in the General Forum get stickied, it influences more off-topic regular threads in this forum - Many of the General Forum threads have become about Internet Marketing, Youtube, and Facebook, when there are other existing sub-forums devoted to such related topics
There are several threads in this forum that either should NOT be stickied or should NOT be stickied in this forum.
The following sticky threads do NOT belong in the General Forum, and should be moved to Online Marketing / Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum - Young Entrepreneur Forums:
- http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/for...ion-39804.html
- http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/for...ols-41305.html
- http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/for...ter-43136.html
- http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/for...oll-50501.html
- http://www.youngentrepreneur.com/for...ews-47696.html

I mean, what is the point of sub-forums if topic organization is not being adhered to? I understand that certain topics are popular and need to be made prominent; however, there are other ways to bring attention to certain threads without creating individual stickies of many different threads in the same forum.
For example, you could create one sticky thread with regards to online marketing in the General Forum, and within that thread link to all the related threads on that topic, which are made sticky in their appropriate sub-forum. That way, you don't need several sticky threads on SEO and Twitter in the General Forum.
The lack of organization and number of off-topic sticky threads in this forum is one of the main reasons I have not visited or posted here in a long time. Still, I am not a moderator (although I used to run my own discussion forum), and I do not mean any offense to any of the current moderators. I am sure you have a challenging task as it is, so I am just trying to help. I think appropriately organizing the sticky threads in this forum could actually help your job of forum management easier by influencing the rest of the forum to work well within the newly created sub-forums.
Best of luck,
Hooman
