    HeyYE community,

My name is Wes Mahler I've been on this forum for about 2 months now, some of you know me and I came across a very disturbing video related to money. I am asking anyone who is reading this message to watch this free documentary video that was just authorized by the producer to watch it for free on google video.

Please watch it, I'd like to see some input from the knowledge YE community. Everyone on here is very success oriented here and I want to be the opinions, thoughts and ideas from people like youself.

    Sincerely,
    Wes

People who believe you don't have to pay taxes are morons. The first winner of survivor didnt pay for the million he won from that show, hes currently in federal prison. There is a warrant out for the arrest of Wesley Snipes for not paying 12 million in taxes (hes currently in Africa avoding federal officials from bringing him to federal prison in the states). He was a big fan of a common scheme related to not paying taxes. I know a very successful individual who missed paying a small amount of his taxes, luckily avoided prison, but served quite a number of months in a federal halfway house with crystal meth dealers and cocaine dealers as his roommates. Don't be stupid, pay your taxes.

I personally agree with jnl.. If noone had to pay, noone would! I think this is a joke... If you don't think it is, try to see if it is legal for yourself. LOL I'm joking, don't really do it!

I typically don't watch videos, as they're slanted and also quite long the majority of the time. It would logically follow that I did not watch this video - and that is true.

You don't have to pay taxes, that's fine with me. But don't call 911, don't expect military protection, please quit using that sewer line and water line, have your phone and lights cut off, get rid of your car.....and we're only just beginning. While I do think that citizens of the U.S. are overtaxed, taxes are a necessary "evil" in any civilized nation.

us citizens are over taxed?!?! come to bloody UK mate. we have to pay 17.5% more on all items part from children clothes. We get taxed about 40% for the middle class. Yet again we do have a national health service and no matter what people say about it i consider it a wonder of the modern world, so i think its a barable to pay for, what annoys people most is when their tax money is going to wasted things, in my country like paying out benefits to lazy sods who can earn more sitting on a sofa than going out and gettin a job.

Its very inefficient and unreasonable to have people not pay taxes. Lets say theres an attack or soemthing, are the people who do not pay taxes not wan protection?

well thats what would happen in a free market economy no taxes are paid so there is no protection for anyone meaning its a "dog eat dog world" everyone will look after themselfs. As it is if there was an attack in america your basic human insticts would kick in and would make you want to help people weather or not they pay taxes. He was just stating that taxes are needed becuase they pay for pretty much everythink that you take for granted which non tax payers dont seem to understand.

You should listen better. I was being sarcastic. Your point is precisely the one I was attempting to make myself.

hey guys, i loved that movie, got me all emotional and angry and stuff...but i went to check things out myself, here's what i found...now I'm not a specialist reading this laws, codes, and all that B.S., so somebody with knowledge about this please clarify:

US Code Title 26, subchapter A of Chapter 61

US Code Titile 26, Subtitle F, Chapter 64, Subchapter A, Section 6301 "Collection Authority

"The Secretary shall collect the taxes imposed by the internal revenue laws."

May also want to read Subsection 7202, "Willful failure to collect or pay over tax"

Any person required under this title to collect, account for, and pay over any tax imposed by this title who willfully fails to collect or truthfully account for and pay over such tax shall, in addition to other penalties provided by law, be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $10,000, or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

and Subsection 7203, "any person required under this title to pay any estimated tax or tax, or required by this title or by regulations made under authority thereof to make a return, keep any records, or supply any information, who willfully fails to pay such estimated tax or tax, make such return, keep such records, or supply such information, at the time or times required by law or regulations, shall, in addition to other penalties provided by law, be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $25,000 ($100,000 in the case of a corporation), or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both, together with the costs of prosecution. In the case of any person with respect to whom there is a failure to pay any estimated tax, this section shall not apply to such person with respect to such failure if there is no addition to tax under section 6654 or 6655 with respect to such failure. In the case of a willful violation of any provision of section 6050I, the first sentence of this section shall be applied by substituting “felony” for “misdemeanor” and “5 years” for “1 year”.

subsection 7201"Attempt to evade or defeat tax"

It states: Any person who willfully attempts in any manner to evade or defeat any tax imposed by this title or the payment thereof shall, in addition to other penalties provided by law, be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100,000 ($500,000 in the case of a corporation), or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

    Thank you

And yeah, the UK and the rest of Europe has absolutely murderous tax rates on everything.

I'm big on "small government" and I think the US is somewhat overtaxed in regards to certain things. Europe is just a mess in that regard though, the damned socialists have just taken over.

    Revolt! Revolt!!!

I'm actually about to present a speech, in one of my last college courses, regarding taxation here in the U.S. - specifically, the income tax. It should be interesting to see the response from the audience.
