The "IT" Forum

I launched a forum a few months ago, the domain name chose me not the other way around....so i decided to start a forum its Redirecting...
if you want to check it out. Since this was a GOOD domain i figured id put it to use.........

so anyways my question is how long does it take until a forum becomes that "it" forum where, you go and there are 5,000 members and active boards, you post a question and you have answers in a a day. As well as what i could do to help me reach that goal

my forum seems to be attracting noone..........any assistance will be appreciated ...thanks

You need to find good posters and have them post good information. A forum will never just become an "it" forum. You are going to have to market the site and probably even pay some people to post until you get a decent following.

Kevin,

There are a few things that make and break forums. One, is how easy are they found in the net. Two, retention: content, loyalty, and frequency are some of the issues that you need to focus on. Three, dominance. Is your forum easy to remember? Is it something people will keep referring to as a forum to go to. Create partnerships with other websites to keep your traffic steady.

Just a few things that came to mind to help you problem solve. Good luck!

LT
