The Human Mind VS the Computer???? (Open Minds Only)

Honestly I have been forever dwelling on the idea of our human minds at some point failing to catch up with computers which in turn is an inevitable future demise. Do you believe this is a possible outcome and why or why not?

    Thanks

I do not think it will be possible. Human minds are responsible for creating these fascinating machines. Even thought they will be able to process more information and do it quicker than the human mind, humans will always be able to reason, which a machine is unable to do. I will agree that we are too dependent on technology and need to figure out what we can do to combat that.

I agree with the super evolution of the human mind and the infinite development of the "matrix" which nowadays is so everclear...

That is true but a computer has all the information of every human. So even if one person made it we have the internet where billions of people post information. So say I ask a person and the computer to add 97823+78654 the computer will immediately come up with an answer while a person would have to do the math in his/her head. If I asked a person how when Darwin went to the Galapagos Islands a person may not know but the computer can go on the internet and quickly figure it out. Just my opinion

Well, great question to ask. Are you by any chance developing something we might be interested in after a few years? Just joking. I do think that with the progress of technology comes the development of humans as well. As we build better and faster machines, why not enhance ourselves as well? Humans are always looking to improve themselves (some go for their looks, some go for their strength etc.). Hope that helps! Good luck!

You're talking about just data though, and yes, it can retrieve data faster, although I don't think that is much different than having a library of 1,000,000 books that you can reference because we can't keep it all in our brain. It can do certain things that we cannot, but the brain can still do more, and I don't believe humans can make something ultimately superior to themselves in all respects. You still have to program it to do and say what you want it to. AI isn't AI at all at this point - just a regurgitation of responses it's been given in the past with no underlying understanding and meaning. How do you program understanding or discernment?
