    The DNA of business

As the years have gone by my passion for business and entrepreneurship have grown tremendously. Not only has my knowledge broadened but my maturity has reach a different level as well. I remember my first time on this in 07 completely lost and reading anything that caught my intrest. Now things are different and this morning I wanted look at the essential ingredients of starting and running a successful business. What is the DNA that is in business to give it its life? Whats one word you can come up with off the top of the head, just one, then give a small explanation on the meaning of that word. Please no repeated words!! Also you may counter someones if you dont agree, give a reason if you do. I will start and the word I choose is......

Faith- we must have faith in our own ablilities and instincts to perform the task or live the dream. We have to have faith that the people around us will do whats expected and be fair. A true entrepreneur does more than just put his money on the line, he puts his whole life on the line. Without faith there wont and will never be a business.
If you're slowing me down then get out of my way, If not then I'm running you over

I would have to say " commitment". I have been very open about my lack of sofistication and education but have always been able to overcome this with a firm committment to doing what I needed to do. This committment has had it's price in other areas of my personnal life but I have no regrets about being committed. Steve

I would have to say 'procrastination'

Theres too much talk and procrastination by people wanting to be in business. Obviously this is a forum for talking about entrepreneurship, though you will find the people who achieve are the ones that stop obsessing over what defines a 'good business' or what words are best to describe an entrepreneur and actually get hands on experience.

The best advice has to be get out there and give something a go, probably make some big mistakes, and if you are persistent enough you will have a chance to come out on top.

Sorry if I sound negative, but sometimes I get over all the threads about 'top ten tips to be successful', or 'words to best define business', it really doesn't matter as what applies to someone else, does not apply to you.
