The 8 Common Characteristics of an Entrepreneur
The 8 Common Characteristics of an Entrepreneur
Now not everyone has all of these characteristics, BUT that's why we have partnerships and teams. Entrepreneurs aren't born, they're made.
Now here are the 8 characteristics in no particular order.
Entrepreneurs are...
1. Creative - they are bustling with ideas and ways to improve or make things things better, if not creating totally new ideas.
Case Study: Thomas Edison, re-invented the light bulb (it was invented by Canadian, perfected by Edison)
2. Confident
Case Study: Donald Trumps, lost all his money, got back into real estate later and regained his lost money. Was confident in the real estate.
3. Open-minded
Case Study: Bill Gates, said the internet was a fad. Changed his mind later.
4. Witty
Case Study: Robert Kiyosaki? Who's funnier than him? hahaha (meant as a compliment)
5. Intelligent (not necessarily at school)
Case Study: Peter Lynch, made managed the Fidelity Magellan fund for 13 years, gave it a phenomenal gain.
6. Observant
Case Study: Michael Dell, worked for a newspaper as a kid and noticed that new home owners and married people bought newspapers mainly. Made $16,000 in commissions.
7. Patient
Case Study: Warren Buffet, will not buy stocks for the sake of buying, holds for years
8. Outspoken
Case Study: Ray Kroc, was an excellent salesman. Sold Lilly cups, multi-mixers, and eventually McDonald's.
9. Damn lucky
Case Study: Nathan Rosthchild, scooped up stocks and made $2,000,000 (converted to canadian)
SO now you KNOw!

You missed one....
Entrepreneurs are very independant and usually have a problem dealing with authority figures....
The characteristics have me down to a tee though

But it didn't work for but a mere 15 minutes, until an African-American man, George Washington Carver, invented a needed filament. Dr. Carver went on to later invent the stop light and also peanut butter. He was a prominent agriculutral scientist and may have not been given full credit for many of his landmark discoveries, since he was the son of a slave and a first-generation college student.

i can write for you if you want.
i have lots of time on my hands write now.
i mean right now.
oh i also wanted to add why i didn't put independence, because i don't believe anybody is truly independent in the sense that business is all about connections and knowing others.
it's a community, like this one.
confidence i believe is more appropriate.

Maybe independent wasn't the right word for the explanation, but I know what she is saying. One of the reasons why I like business so much and decided that business was for me is because I hate having people telling me what to do.

Independence and confidence are two very different words. They're not even synonymous to each other.
Perhaps a definition would be better: Independent
1. Not governed by a foreign power.
2. Free from the influence, guidance, or control of another or others; self-reliant: an independent mind
3. Not determined or influenced by someone or something else; not contingent: a decision independent of the outcome of the study.
Yes you are right, nobody is truly independent. Canada is independent, so is the U.S. however they are dependant on each other for a number of resources. We live in a symbiotic world, it's what keeps us functioning. When dealing with specific characteristics associated with entrepreneurs, we cannot discount the need to be independent. Confidence is important as well but independence is a driving factor for why entrepreneurs choose to be entrepeneurs instead of just regular people....
