I hope people can help me with my issue. I am a young African-American school disciplinarian and I want to start a small business teaching Spanish people in the area to speak English.
Since I cannot speak fluent Spanish I am hiring a translator and teacher/tutor. I want to pay them $100-200 a week (every Friday)(Cash!).
I want to charge $10-20 per hour, per student. Do the math. My viewpoint is optimistic.
I am shooting for 5-10 students per class session and charge $20 per hour, 4 hours per week. Tuesday-Thursday evenings. That is reasonable pay for only 4 hours of work.
I researched a ton of info concerning Spanish culture, and ESL (English as Second Language). The teachers are certified ESL teachers. Also, I won't be paying for my location right off the bat.
I have help from local Spanish speakers, my Dad's entire construction crew is comprised of Spanish speaking people who want to learn English. So, I have a connection to my customer base I think as well. I want to start my first class June 2, 2009, I have done my hiring and application process, I am applying for my LLC in a few weeks?
CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME ADVICE....OPINION....ALTERNATE PERSPECTIVE.......I am thinking that since this is a small business plan with little overhead initially that will give me time to market and expand. I also have a degree in Communication and a semester of graduate school under my belt.....Thanks in advance for your expert advice!
I don't want to hop in the water without a little advice.
