Im looking at starting a t shirt business for a school eco business. Im unsure if the t shirts will sell as last yr someone did they same thing and sold none. But as I will have a website up to sell the shirts on and am good at promoting do you think they will sell? They are aimed at teens and also have suitable print designs on them.. please tell me what you think and if you can help me. Also if you have any other good ideas you'd like to help me with.

    Thanks!

I believe that the market is flooded not only with hundreds of other independent retailers, but also thousands of corporate brands. Clothing/brands/etc, imo, is one of the most difficult ventures out there.

Now, don't get me wrong. If this is honestly your passion, allow no one to stop you from accomplishing your goals. Good luck YaZur/

My girlfriend and I have the same passion and actually have a store up and running and let me tell you it is a TOUGH market. There are millions of people out there selling shirts of every design and idea and it takes a lot of work to get your name out there. We have done decent enough in the 5 or so months we have been opperating but we haven't really put in the time and effort to get our name out there because with working a regular 9-5 it is just hard to put in all that extra time required. We are slowly getting there but let me tell you it is hard. Don't expect to set up shop and have the money just flow like a river.

You also have to take into account the process you want to use. Are you going to make them yourself, use screen printing, use a 3rd part service like Cafe Press, and all these variables. All that said, I love running our site. It is something we really enjoy and will continue to do as long as we can. There is money in it if you put in the time and find something people will want.
