    Summer Job before Uni

    Hi

I've just finished school and i'm looking for a Summer job. There's a chance that I could be working in a small business following an entrepeneur for experience. However if this dosen't happen i'm not sure what type of work I should be looking for.

I'm starting a Business Management degree in September so what work would be best to gain experience for the degree course and being an entrepenuer in later life.

I've thought of working in Subway, Starbucks and local hotels, but would this be the best thing to do?

    Thanks

I suggest looking to make money online. instead of a part time job. I think you would enjoy it more, plus make more money.

Uhh, I dont see what kind of experience you would gain working at subway for 3 months. It would be great to get an internship or something, but it may be too late to start searching.. If you need the money, just get any job and read business related books.

Or better yet, start your own business, its the best way to learn

Yeah this is what I really want to do, but im struggling to find a market niche. I'm not sure if I should start a business selling goods to do with my hobbies - this way i'd be passionate about it, however there is not a lot of room in the (english) football market - would I be right in saying it is saturated?

Or I could try to find a product which could be a big seller, however this is likely to have to come from abroad, so wouldn't it be easier for larger firms to do?

I keep going around in these circles and it's really fustrating. What is the best way of finding a market niche?

It's already the middle of June. September is right around the corner and by the time you want to get something started you will be on your way to school. Read some books and learn some things online. Learn as much valuable information as you can through books and your sources online. As for a job go to one of the places you said like a hotel or starbucks. You can gain experience with working with customers, which is a very valuable lesson. Also, you will have some money made for when you arrive at school and even to start a business at that point. Don't rush to start a business. Once you have read books, ideas will come to you.
    GOOD LUCK!

thanks! The problem I have though with the job is that because i'm not sure what industry I want to become an entrepeuner in, i'm not sure what industry I should target for a summer job. What is your advice?

I would say that getting any kind of job where you can get customer service experience is important, especially if you're unsure of what industry you want to be in. The best way to learn is to get out there and try things out, that way you will get a better idea of what you want to do. Good luck!!
