Successful Business owner Willing to Help New Business Owners

    Hello,

My Priority is to find new companies to purchase, and other business owners or investors to Joint venture with.

While in this endeavor, I will offer all I can to anyone looking for help along the way. I was helped many times with great advice, healthy positioning, and great contacts. I will definitely offer the same to anyone that is looking.

I am not a very religious guy, so I will paraphrase "You get 'helped' if you help yourself." Please do not look for hand-outs. If you seriously want to make it in business, it is not easy. There is no 'success button.' You have to work hard. You will fail at times. It will be a hard battle. The rewards far out weight anything, but mostly all that try fail. Good luck!

    Kirk.

    Hello,

    Thank-you for your e-mail.

I own two corporations and three companies; I am trying to post the websites of the companies, but it will not let me until I have 10 posts in forums. Once I have 10 posts, I will post the websites. They are not online companies.

I am involved with the import and export of vehicles; cars, trucks, atv's, snow-mobiles, boats, etc...

I am involved in Real-Estate, with the growing "Lease-To-Own" business.

    Regards,
    Kirk

Impressive... Looks like you've got a nice business going. I like how all three kind of intersect in an up sell manner. I would say this though. You would probably be better off with one site selling all three services. Focusing your marketing efforts would lead to a lot of cross selling. I like your market position though.

    Hello Roger,

I appreciate your advice. I was going to Link the companies' websites together. Each have their own advertising and marketing campaigns, and I find running them as separate entities have pros and cons.

'From Foundation To Finish' has the installation contract for Home Depot. This is a great contract, and keeps the company very busy, but is really only half of it's business. It is a contracting business, so every job it gets, the jobs are sub'ed out. The keeps the need to have employees low. And the company is paid for others' work. It is a great business model.

'Simple Design Decks' sub-contracts to From Foundation To Finish on all of deck and fence installations at Home Depot. This is only part of it's business also. It is very well known where I live, and stays very busy in the summer.

'The Ultimate Lawn' is a fairly new company, and has very niche markets - higher-end home-owners, pet-owners, commercial properties, revenue properties, etc...

When doing the "Home and Garden" show, each company has it's own booth. They are very close together, and work together in some ways.

Again, thank-you for the advice. I have been meaning to link each site together, which is something I will accomplish this week.

    Regards,
    Kirk

I'd be interested in talking. I have a product that I'd like to export but not sure how to go about it.

My other question for all my venture ideas is where do you find capital?

    Hello Joe,

You can send me a private message regarding the product you would like to export.

People can get capital from all different places. From personal (money in the bank), borrowed money, partnerships, etc...

For me personally? If I like the investment, I could use my own funds. I would prefer to borrow money. I would be sure the interest rate my bank would give me is covered, and I still make the return I want. If I think there is a business-owner or investor that has experience in the venture you are looking to fund, I would ask them to come in on it so they can give their expertise along the way.

Borrowing money - Banks are very hesitant to lend money on anything risky anymore.... unless they are lending to someone they know, who pays their loans back, and has the equity to back his/her loans. This is why more and more companies (especially start-up) have to go to private investors/lenders to start or get money for his/her company. So, if you have this relationship with your bank, they may take a slight 'risk' on your ventures. If not, people like you and I will be doing a lot of future business together.

Your Bank - From the time you start a company, you should always keep a good relationship with your bank - the manager and/or the loans person. etc... And quite truly the people that work the tellers. I even go as far to bring my financials to my bank (the loans manager), even if I do not need a loan at that time. I keep them in the 'heart-beat' of what I am doing, what kind of revenue I am generating, and what kind of profit I am making. I highly recommend this practice. Then, when you would like to borrow from them, not only do they now know you personally, then know your financials. You aren't just a stranger bringing in some documents.

If you get your relationship to this level, not only will you be in a position to fund your own ventures, but you can start funding others and making money off that too... That is when your money works for itself and creates more money without your effort. It is a good feeling.

Let me know if you have any other questions. And, send me that exporting product information, we'll see if we can move it for you.

    Thanks,
    Kirk
