    Success Story Kinda

I wanted to post this here since I enjoy this forum and gathering from things I read has helped me.

I did this with a partner who is more of a creative type person, and less of a facts, numbers, deals type person. But together we spent about 2 months everyday talking and working on out Business Plan (<~~Keyword here) for a Restaurant Delivery Service. We spent many many late nights working on this even when I was on a study abroad program in Spain for month. Just recently we took out plan to our CDC (Community Development Center because my county in Alabama doesn't have a SBA office and the SBA office in the neighboring county could not help us financially because we are not 21) and after review by the director and after she presented to their board, we got a $10,000 loan, more than enough to fund us!

I just wanted to post this to encourage all who want to start their own business and also for those who are looking for funding. Be prepared for sure, and make sure that you exhaust ALL options before you even consider putting you project on hold.

One big thing that helped us is that they knew we were serious because we already had some test brochures out outlining to the restaurants what it is we do, we also had a test menu booklet for our customers, and we already distributed about 500 fliers around our city, so everywhere they turned they saw us there.

Also, don't overlook the importance and blessing of partnerships. With this even though we constantly but heads on different things, we have both acknowledged that we couldn't have done it without the other person.

As with the magazine that you may have heard me make mention of in earlier posts, my partners in that are a godsend because we can do so much in terms of workload and also because we can all span different areas to get our name out there because we attend 3 different schools and have contacts in different areas.

A man told me yesterday that "A man can make it big picking up sticks if he keeps at it, so make sure that you keep at it."

    Congratulations GhostFac3!

I think this is the kind of story everyone likes to hear. I personally would love to hear your progress, I'm sure some of the young entrepreneurs would also.

    Keep at it!
