    it's brilliant.

perfect example of what happens to people who trade stocks and real estate.

notice the start and end prices.

who doesn't feel like jumping out of a skyscraper?

It is a true representation of how one trades when they have no plan.

Investing/trading be the seat of ones pants with out a written plan...is doomed to fail.

Often a poor strategy combined with a decent plan will out perform a good strategy and no plan.

It's often said that trading is one of the hardest things to do for a living. Most people don't have enough capital to start and are scared money.
You are competing against some of the smartest people in the world that are after the same thing...your money.

Exactly the reason you can't let your emotions come into play when you're trading stocks. If you've done your research over and don't let emotions take over, then you will do much better in the long run

you blokes have some great points but I don't think they go far enough.

the point is, when it comes to stocks, human decision making is inferior to computer driven selection.

the whole idea of trading plans is contradictory with people surrendering to emotion and using a tool to curb it. why else would you apply a plan unless you plan to beat the market and predict the ticker?

the good news? plenty. you can make an obscenely good living trading stocks - as long as it's not your money you're trading!

....and I'm not just saying this

Nice find. I remember myself having the same thinking when I used to practice trading stocks with a simulator.

So last week I read several books on investments and I learned all the statistical models and analysis that you could ever want to learn.

However, computers can't recognize a break-through concept or revolutionary business model or any other such factors that could lead to substantial future stock performance. Sure, if I was going for a reasonable market gain with X amt of risk as given by standard deviations and so forth, yeah, I would go with computer driven predictions, but I think they fall short when it comes to achieving superior gains.
