    Stock market for websites?

    This is not a business proposition merely a topic of discussion.
    Do you think that an unofficial form of a stock market for websites would be a useful online service? This would obviously not include registered companies purely websites. Webmasters could post a profile of their website, revenue, sources of income, future plans etc. They could then list how much investment they are asking for each virtual share and how much they are willing to give away. This is obviously a very basic outline of a hypothetical idea but thought it might be interesting to see everyones response

    it would need a regulatory system like the SEC in order to have any legitimacy on it
