In short.

You can purchase stocks at certain prices, hold them, and hopefully sell for more income. Or you can sell first (borrow) stocks, and then buy them back later for profit from the difference. Short Sell.

Look it up, search. Not really a good forum question!

Warmly,
Wes

Stocks are fractional shares in a company. When you buy them, (usually) you hold them and hope for them to appreciate, and if you wish sell them at a profit or a loss. To do this you must sign-up with a brokerage firm and pay them commissions - fees - for each trade. The price varies.

Also you can buy a stock that pays dividend. A dividend is where a company pays at cash to its shareholders. You may either get a check or it will go directly into your brokerage account (depending).
