Starting an engineering company for automotive market

I would like to start a business that sell and design aftermarket lighting accessories for the automotive tuners market. In case you are not familiar with the automotive tuners market, it is made up of mostly teens between the age of 18-30. These teens are into modifying their car to make it look unique and they do so by adding LEDs and neons lighting to their cars. The Leds and neons can blinks and do other things with the use of an electronic circuit.

My company will sell the lightings (LEDs and Neons) as well as designing and selling the electronic circuits that will control the lighting through a website. I might start by selling on ebay initially.

My question is, is my niche a little too tight?

Also, will there be any problems with outsourcing the manufacturing of the electronic circuits designed @ my company to China? The machines use for the manufacturing can cost $500,000 so it is too much for me.
