    Starting a Podcast, need ideas.

Ok so I am starting a Podcast, I am debating whether I should have a niche in business. Or if I should make it funny, and talk about random news stories. Which would appeal to everyone better? Also what would be a good name to call my podcast?

Where are the most popular places where podcasts are submitted?

How do I make it successful.

    Hi Ryan,

I just had this idea while I was reading your post. Have you ever heard of The Colbert Report? A funny, infact, hilarious political news show. The host covers ind epth true news, but with a humorous twist.

Something like that, in regards to business, wether it be world business or what ever, I think could be very successful!

    Just my $0.02,

I think a funny podcast about major companies and their decisions would be cool.

2 seconds of searching found me this: Where to Submit Your Podcasts: Best Podcast Search Engines and Directories

It's a big list of places to submit it.

Great resource, I thank you for that. I think more of a busines podcast would be better, more professional in a lot of ways. I think if people like the Big Idea then they will love the show. I am still trying to figure out what to call it though.

That's interesting Ryan. I'm not sure if you can just "pick a niche" to be a specialist in. I would listen to the cast if you were an expert or particularly interested in a niche, but to just pick one because someone suggested it seems a bit different.

No I know a lot about business, but I also like to be funny... What do you think would be more successful and make more money in the long run.

    No problem.

And as far as what would make more money, I feel it all depends on your target audience. You wouldn't market a funny podcast to a bunch of professionals, and you wouldn't market a serious podcast to a bunch of people looking for a bit of humor to relax.

And for your name? I guess that would depend on which route you take.
