    Question Starting a Business - Under 18

I am currently 15 (16 at the end of the month) and living in the UK and I have been thinking of selling custom built computers (made by me) by buying the necessary parts like CPU, motherboard, hard drive. I would start off using £600 from my parents to buy the parts. I think it would be best to sell through a website like eBay. Currently on eBay I think I could easily get away with selling the pc for about £750 - £850 considering the spec of the pc I am looking at building.

My main concern is what laws are there about this kind of product to sell and would I have to pay taxes.

    just do it,

When i was 13, i was re-selling refurbished ipods on ebay (i'm 18 now). I sold about 100 of them (no joke) and nothing happened on paying tax, etc. your young, a minor, nothing a serious or bad can happen at your age.

If you are only selling a few every month it should be fine. If you decide to get serious with it, register a business.

but, i know that paypal and ebay have become a bit more strict over the years now, so even if you register, you wont be paying any, or much tax with the income your making

I'm in the process of registering now.

    Good luck!

I agree with nick. Just do it. The chances of anything happening are very slim.

After the introduction of the digital world there were huge number of young millionaires have doubled and still growing. Well as they have earlier told you... "Just do it"!! In order for you biz to be legit you must pay government taxes of course and you can have a legal business counseling for that in your local area. Also bare in mind of the future disappointment that may come along the way but do not stop from doing what you really love best. It is your passion of the business that will keep you going despite the road blocks of financial freedom.

    May you find your success.
