    Start-up capital

I have a business idea and I need funding. I don't have any money of my own to use on this project otherwise I would. I've meet with multiple consultants dealing with this project and they all see a lot of potential in the idea. Of course they revised and recommended a few things.

The project would need about $40k to get started, but all of my consultants end up telling me that I will need to ask family members or friends as "real" investors won't be willing to invest without proven profits. Of course this makes sense but my problem is my family nor friends have any money. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has dealt with this type of situation before. My question is how do you find funding when the banks won't give out a loan and your family doesn't have any money to spare? Are there any investors on these forums?

If you're interested my idea is to start a video game only rental kiosk. There's a lot more to it and I've been working with this idea for a few months now. Email me if you're interested.

Hi, You need to successfully sell your idea to someone to have money then. In some case, your suppliers can be your investors also, for example, the place you buy Video game may give you credit so you don't put in investment.

Hope you get your funding soon.

Thanks Keith. I've also thought about bringing in a partner to help with this initial costs. I don't know if that's my best option but it is a possibility.

Hi Phill. If you bring in a partner for capital only. Maybe you can position them as a silent partner?
This would be more inline as an investor. Unless you are bringing them in to assist with growing the business.

I need a partner for a few reasons mainly to assist with the business itself. I'm looking for one that could also have some contacts interested in investing. I'm trying to work out deals with the kiosk manufacturer and wholesale distributor to cut the initial costs. As of right now I need about $40K I'm hoping I can bring that down to $25-$30K.

If there's anyone in the Columbus, OH area interested in partnering up with me on this project let me know. I have access to a lawyer, accountant and the former chief of marketing for RedBox. I've been meeting with TechColumbus and the SMDC building contacts and formulating a strong business model.
