start a part time business with no money.

I'm only working 25 hours a week on a basic salary at the moment and I have less than £1000 in my bank account. Can I start a part time business like this? I looked at few low cost business ideas but don't feel like any of them are for me.

Well it depends on your business. What do you want to do. I have no money and I am starting a small business with exactly five dollars so depends on the type of business.

true, true, I remember there is a quote that says "its supposed to be hard, thats why its so great. Otherwise everyone will be doing it".

I'm not asking you to give away ur business idea but I just want to know what type of business it is so I know what sort of things I can look into.

Well, thanks for asking. One of the first things you have to realize is what is your passion. What is your interest etc. Because that will be what you will feel excited about working on and building into a viable business. After that, what is the amount you are looking to invest? If you are in the internet space, which is far easier than opening any store etc., you have to merely worry about hosting and domain. Basic web design is available for free most of the time. After that, you should be ready to go! Many young entrepreneurs have started companies for under $200, $500 (and some of them are just 13-18!). So, find that interest first. Of course you can, the important part is finding something that interests you and turning it into a business. Ask yourself, "what are your passions", "what do you like to do?" "what do you do in your freetime?" and find some way to incorporate those things in a business.

For me I love music and have been playing music for going on 9 years (I know everyone and their mother says music is their passion lol), but it is what I love to do and be around. So I'm focusing on ways to be in and around music, be with the bands and artist, go to shows, etc.

Well, you can and you cannot. All it depends upon the business you’re willing to take start with. If the business in your mind carries low cot products, you can start whereas, if the game is reverse, you cannot in such a short budget. But make sure to first conduct proper research; draft a proper plan of execution and its implementation strategies. Best of luck!

@ generationy - Right on point here!

You can definitely start an online business with little to no money. You can open an account with sites such as Weebly and then look into affiliate marketing, creating information products, sponsored ads, drop shipping, etc.

But keep in mind that if you want to create a long term business model than you will have to eventually put money into the business or order to make money. There may be rare exceptions to this, but for the most part you are looking at creating a site on your own server therefore incurring hosting costs, email services, and software purchases, all which cost money.

    Good luck!

I think it is not possible to start the business with no money. There are so many ways a business makes you spend money. For e.g. if you purchase a website you have to spend, if you advertise you have to spend and if you file your taxes, you have to spend. There is no way you can start with no money. Even electricity, net connection and others do cost money ( you may choose to ignore them). I think the best idea is to keep working for some more time, till you have a better bank balance. Then develop a particular expertise in certain area and explore the options of doing business in that area. Once you have a taste for the market, you can always determine the scope of your venture( for e.g. in terms of size or reach ) and the budget your expenses. A methodical approach to your venture will always help. It does not matter if the budget is large or small, my point is it can never be zero.

Your business must be something that really interest you, I believe that if you have passion on what you are doing you can bring something from nothing.
    Cheers!!

You can definitely start a business with what you have but keep in mind for most entrepreneurs it takes some time before they actually start earning money. I think you should keep working 25 hours a week as usual and use the rest of the time to start a part time business.

everything is possible. It might help to step outside the box and take money making out of the equation. The best ideas are developed through passion/creativity/imagination at the helm where there is no money pressure pushing
